Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST 2025: The Bike That Will Surprise You!

Harley-Davidson and sportiness have a complicated history. Let’s be honest, Milwaukee’s bikes are more about cruising comfortably than attacking twisty roads. But with the Pan America 1250 ST, Harley is making a bold move: transforming its trail bike into a machine designed for the road and thrill-seeking rides. It’s an American recipe that seriously looks towards Europe… and Ducati in particular.
A Revamped Chassis for More Sportiness
The big news is, of course, the introduction of a 17-inch front wheel instead of the original 19-inch. Paired with a grippy Michelin Scorcher Sport tire, this change is game-changing: more responsiveness, more precision, and a riding position that invites aggression. The Showa suspension has also been tweaked with reduced travel to 170 mm (compared to 190 mm on the standard version), lowering the center of gravity for more stability on the road.
When it comes to braking, Harley trusts Brembo with 4-piston radial calipers gripping 320 mm discs up front. The rear is handled by a 280 mm disc with a single-piston caliper. That means the bike’s 246 kg can be brought to a quick stop!
A Powerful Engine
Under the hood, you’ll find the Revolution Max 1250 twin, a water-cooled 1,250cc V-Twin that churns out 150 hp at 9,000 rpm and 127 Nm at 6,750 rpm. This engine has character, much closer to what European competition offers than Harley’s usual bulky twins. To bolster the sporty vibe, the manufacturer has worked on the exhaust, removed the intermediary chamber, and integrated a Screamin’ Eagle Quickshifter for clutchless gear shifts. It’s serious business!
A Polarizing Look
Visually, the Pan America 1250 ST maintains its distinctive style. You either love it or hate it, but it’s hard to stay indifferent to this robotic head-on-wheels! For its ST version, Harley has made some adjustments: a shorter smoked windshield, a redesigned front fender to fit the new wheels, and a single-piece seat. Also gone are the center stand and crash bars, lightening the beast a little. Color options? Billiard Gray as standard, but if you’re after black or red, it’ll cost you an additional $450. A bit stingy, Harley…
A Pan America Made for the Road
With all these modifications, the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 ST is no longer a trail bike. There’s no off-roading here; this bike is clearly made for the road. And that’s precisely Harley’s idea: to capture some market share from Ducati Multistrada and other sporty tourers. The tech equipment remains top-notch, with a 6.8-inch TFT display, Bluetooth compatibility for your smartphone, and navigation via the Harley-Davidson app. Perfect for those who love onboard tech.
